BRC 2013 Winners!

Congratulations to SFC Raymond Santiago and SFC Timothy Briggs of the Ranger Training Brigade. They are the 2013 Best Ranger Competition Winners. Units from around the Army sent teams to compete for the best of the best honors and of the 49 teams to start, team 34 lead the way and placed first.

If you have hopes of competing next year, it is never to early to start training.

Current Packing List

What NOT to bring:

    The following items are highly discouraged:

  • Cell phones or any electronic devices.
  • These items will be confiscated and put in hold baggage.

 

      The following items are unauthorized and grounds for release from the course:

 

  • Any product with caffeine.
  • Tobacco products of any type.
  • Civilian GPS
  • Civilian long underwear
  • Contact lenses
  • Filled in Operations Orders, FRAGO, or Annex format
  • Modified shoulder strap, pads, or kidney pad
  • Spandex type athletic wear/underwear (tight fitting under armour)
  • Vitamins or Supplements of any kind
  • Gortex socks
  • Civilian medications (Aspirin, Tylenol, etc.)
  • No personal TA-50
  • Cash over $100

 

 

What you MUST bring:

  • Required Medical Documentation: Approved Ranger Physical Examination (DD Form 2807, DD Form 2807-1, DD Form 2808), Audiogram (DD Form 2216E), and copies of all laboratory or specialized consultations signed by a Doctor and Dentist, dated within 18 Months of course start date. IAW AR 40-501, chapters 2 and 5-3, and performed IAW Chapter 8. Additionally, a current copy of MEDPROS that includes (routine adult + H1N1 module) and a routine immunization summery. Annual FLU shot required before attending winter classes (01 OCT-30 APR).
  • Current Packing List is available from the RTB website at this link in Excel format. I’m not sure why they need to include a picture of everything. Just make sure to print the first four pages and take them with you . They will use this as a check list to inspect you with.

FY 2013 Ranger Class Schedule

The Ranger Course consists of three phases. The first phase (Benning), is conducted at Fort Benning, Georgia for 20 days. The second phase (Mountain), is conducted near Dahlonega in the mountains of North Georgia for 21 days. The third and final phase (Swamp/Jungle/Urban), is conducted at Eglin Air Force Base in North Western Florida for 18 days. Two days at the end of the course are used for out processing and graduation.

Reporting Information: Incoming students will report as early as 1000, but NLT 1300 on Day 0 (Sunday) of the Ranger Class they are scheduled to attend. Reporting location is Building 5002 (Multi-Purpose Training Facility) on Camp Rogers located in the Harmony Church area of Fort Benning GA. Students must report in ACU uniform (or their Service equivalent).

*Students attending Ranger Class 2-13 are required to take Holiday Block Leave and are encouraged to make all travel arrangements prior to attending Ranger School. This is to prevent students from paying for last minute airline tickets because there is no scheduled time for travel arrangements once the course begins. Holiday Block Leave is from from 170900DEC2012 through 031800JAN2013. Students will not make travel arrangements prior to 0900 on the 16th of December from Columbus GA and, no earlier than 1200 from Atlanta-Hartsfield International Airport. Students must return to Camp Rogers no earlier than 1200 and no later than 1800 on the 3rd of January 2013.
